Assistant RDC Commissions Completed Projects in Kitgum District
The Assistant Resident District Commissioner, Mr. Okidi Joseph (ARDC) for Kitgum District, together with district leaders, councillors, technical staff and community representatives, has as of today 6th/10/2026 commissioned several completed development projects implemented during the last financial year 2025/2026 under education department.
The commissioning exercise brought together district councillors, technical staff, local leaders and members of the community to witness and inspect the completed projects and assess their contribution to improved service delivery.
Speaking during the commissioning, the Assistant RDC commended Kitgum District Local Government for implementing projects aimed at addressing the needs of the local population. He urged councillors and community leaders to monitor the projects closely and ensure that the facilities are properly utilised and maintained.
These structures included VIP Latrines, Teacher’s staff houses in respective schools such as; VIP in Lamola Primary School in Labong Amida West S/C worth 26, 279,315, Labongo Amida S/C Oryang Ojuma P/S 1 block of 2 class room worth 116,643,018, Ocettoke Primary School VIP latrine at 27,437,348 in Labongo Layamo S/C, Staff House at Bishop Ochola P/S at 121,292,318, VIP at Pajimo P/S at 27,437,348 and lastly Staff House at Alune P/S at tune of 122,268,532 in Labongo Akwang Sub County respectively.
He further called upon the school authorities to take ownership of the completed projects and encouraged contractors and technical staff to uphold quality standards and accountability in the implementation of government programmes.
The commissioning of the projects demonstrates the will of Central Government and commitment of Kitgum District Local Government to improving infrastructure and delivering essential services to the people of Kitgum.
